And I Quote
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” ~The Apostle Paul, inspired by God, written in a letter to the Ephesians, chapter 2, verse 10
This was one of the verses that we looked at at church. The pastor likened us, God’s workmanship, to wood in the hands of a master carpenter. I prefer to think of us as fabric and notions in the hands of a master sewer…
1) The things that I enjoy sewing the best are one of a kind pieces of art. I tend to shy away from “mass production” of the same item. In the same way, God created each of us individually.
2) When I go to make this one of a kind piece, I carefully choose beautiful pieces of fabric. However, these are never perfect. Inevitably, there is some kind of blemish or stain, or at the very least a selvedge to avoid. These need to be cut of, so that the end product is as perfect as possible. God does the same, cutting off anything that is less than perfect. At times it is painful, but entirely necessary.
3) Sewing an extra special project takes time. I don’t want to try to finish in an afternoon. On the contrary, I want to take as much time as I need, to do the best job possible. God also takes His time to perfect us.
