My first regency dress
I made this Regency dress and pelisse from Jennie Chancey’s patterns. The little girl I made it for looked like a little princess when she put it on!
The back—notice the princess lines. These are also on the dress back. Also notice the shoulder seams. It is historically accurate for the seams to be dropped behind the shoulder. It makes sense to me, no seams are visible on the front!
Here’s the dress without the pelisse (and no, the hem is not crooked!) The customer asked for the neckline to be squared, to echo the lines of the pelisse neckline.
The back closes with buttons and the bodice is fully lined. There are almost no raw edges (just side seams of skirt and about an inch on the sleeve).
