Going to The Family Arts Festival was a good way to learn about all sorts of different kinds of art. Not only did we see the forms of art, we experienced them. For instance, we would look at a “real” artist’s picture, then we’d create one of our own using a technique like the one the artist used, or copying a part of the picture.

Another art form we experienced was making music with instruments. Not only did we see people perform, we got to try to make music with real instruments!

We also enjoyed the science exploration area. I learned some things about owls that I didn’t know before. Did you know that the screech owl only lives 3 years, while the great horned owl lives over 30?
This was the fifth annual festival and it was bigger and better than ever. With 8 hours to explore the dozens of activities and displays and watch performances on SIX different stages, it was quite impossible to see and do everything! That’s why we go every year:)
