One of the things I have enjoyed about blogging is the people I meet. Although most of those relationships are confined to an exchange of a couple emails every once in awhile. Sometimes circumstances work out so you can meet face to face. So next week I'll be taking the family up to Phoenix to visit some relatives, and then take my wife to a BBQ with some other bloggers from the Phoenix area. And one from New York City.
Looking forward to it...

Sometimes pictures just happen, and you are glad you brought your camera...
This was one of those times. The angle of the sun was just right, and I was able to get down low enough and shoot through the bars, and came up with this great shot of one of our four giraffes at the Reid Park Zoo here in Tucson.

No, Apple hasn't implemented chat functionality into iTools (interesting idea, though), I just ran into this chat transcript between Derrick Story and Rael Dornfest posted on O'Reilly's Writers Talk site. Very interesting...

Friday quietly marked the 2 anniversary of my first post to this blog. Actually it wasn't so quiet, as I received traffic from Jeffrey, Alan, Eric, Shirley, and others over the weekend for my 3 column CSS layout that works in NN4. Thanks all!

somewhere in arizona, March 12, 2002, Picacho Peak, AZ
My itinerary on Tuesday had me stopping at Picacho Peak to take some digital photos (see above), and then to the Apple Store in Chandler. From there I ate lunch at the In-n-Out Burger, also in Chandler. The place was packed, with a constant stream of people. And, as always, delivered a great burger (double double, lettuce and tomato only), along with the best fries and a chocolate shake. Then it was off to the DeWalt store in Phoenix,to return a broken orbital sander. And finally to LemurZone World Headquarters, to meet the Head Lemur, and his family; to enjoy some magnificent stuffed manicotti, prepared by the Head Lemur Himself, and all too short a visit with Jeffrey and Carrie; to take said couple to the airport as I headed home to Tucson.
I'm still smiling...

mecca, March 12, 2002, Apple Store in Chandler, AZ
So I found myself in Phoenix, and decided to make a stop at the Apple Store in Chandler. I am now leeching off their Airport network, using it to upload today's post. The picture was supposed to show me in the reflection. Oh well, at least one of the salespeople laughed (in fact he printed it out) when I showed him today's Joy of Tech...

What do you do when your digital camera can hold over 600 images? Joe Chelman has one answer. My favorite is Craig Takes a Drink.
